To Mel''s Family: We were so sorry to hear of Mel''s death; she was a dear friend of our for many years. We met in 1966 when she and Murdoch lived across the hall from us in our first year of marriage, was there to dote on our daughter Gisele ("Gigi") until they moved to Frobisher Bay and continued in a shared friendship through their years when they returned to Amherst. Over the years we were apart, we always kept in touch. At the time of Murdoch''s death, we felt that not only had she lost her husband but also her best friend. It was such a sadness that came over her and remained; now she is at peace, with her dear Murdoch. She will always have a very special place in our hearts. Most sincerely, Doreen and Willie Gibbs, daughters Gisele and Melanie.
