John "Skip" Van Tassel

Conceding to a brave battle with cancer, John Allan “Skip” Van Tassel passed away Thursday, June 27th, 2013 with family by his side. He is survived by his two daughters, Lyn Van Tassel (Jamie McCormick) and Judy Van Tassel (Donnie Brown) and their mother Evelyn Van Tassel as well as grandsons, Michael McCoy and Mitchell Brown.

Following 10 years of service in the Air force, Skip began his lengthy career with NBTel (Bell Aliant) which continued through to his 80th year.  He cherished his time at his summer residence in Cambridge Narrows where his door was always open to many friends and family.   He will always be remembered for his quick wit and humour.
Skip was predeceased by his parents, James Lovett Van Tassel and Florence Pearl (McLean) Van Tassel.  

Following cremation, a memorial service and reception will be held at Shadow Lawn Inn, 3180 Rothesay Rd, Rothesay, NB on Tuesday, July 2nd from 2-4 pm.
Memorial donations can be made to the SPCA/Animal Rescue or the Joshua Group.

Skip’s family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Extramural and Palliative care at the SJRH for their guidance and outstanding compassion.
