John Bedell

John Berton Bedell, born September 9, 1939, in Woodstock, NB passed away peacefully on March 16, 2016 in Saint John. 

He was a devoted husband of 51 years to the love of his life, Sarah Anne (Sally) and supportive father to his two sons; Tom and Steve.  Along with his immediate family, who were with him when he passed, he is survived by his sister; Maggie Briscoe of Pembroke, ON, grandchildren; James, Sarah, Julia and Kate, and daughters-in-law; Jennifer and Vanessa. 

John was a longtime employee of NB Power, as an industrial mechanic at the Courtenay Bay plant on Bayside Drive.  He enjoyed vintage motorcycles, amateur photography, and had a passion for building (and promptly crashing) radio-controlled model airplanes.  His gregarious nature, sense of humor, generosity, and hearty laugh will be remembered by friends, or any stranger he came in contact with.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 12-2pm with a funeral service to immediately follow.  The Bedells would like to thank the helpful, supportive staff, especially Pam and Marshall from the Extra Mural Program Saint John Unit, the staff at Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Pastor Greg McMullin.  Memorial donations made in John’s name to the Extra Mural Program or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by family.
