Catherine Denis: So sorry you've lost your Dad - it's been a long, hard struggle for all of the family. Take care of yourselves and each other. Sorry I won't be with you in person at the funeral but will keep you in my heart, my thoughts and my prayer (haven't felt just up to snuff today so don't want to pass anything on). We were sorry to hear that your Dad passed on. He and Dad will have some stories to tell now. I will be in today but because Gerry''s mom passed on the same day, we have to be going to sussex etc. Her funeral is on Friday morning in Youngs'' cove. I know how hard it is to have our loves ones move on but we shouldn''t be sad for them, but for us, as we won''t be able to see them for a while, All the best to you all,

I will miss you so much Hedley. I feel so blessed that my husband and kids got to meet you and your wonderful family; who always greet us with open arms. It is an honour and privilege to have known and be part of the Dyker clan since my childhood. I have so many fond memories.

Our sympathies go out first to Catherine, and to Hedley’s sons, daughters, grandchildren, and to the great grandkids. It is never an easy thing to lose you husband, your father, your grandpa.
Living in Ontario and getting back to New Brunswick way too seldom, I got to spend hardly any time with my Uncle Hedley as an adult. The last time was eight years ago when my own dad was getting near the end of his life after his stroke.
I remember so clearly and so warmly sitting out together on my dad’s back deck, how much my father got out of that last visit with his brother and how much I got out of it.
It is for me a wonderful last memory of my Uncle Hedley, a warm, kind and loving man.
I took great comfort on my dad’s passing that he got to have a long, full and meaningful life, and I’m sure that will help some with Hedley’s passing, too.
