Gwendolyn Frances Carty

With sadness the family announce the passing of Gwendolyn Frances Carty who passed away on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1943 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Ruth (Hunter) Marks. Gwen worked as a devoted care giver for many years and took great pride in doing so. She loved animals and enjoyed many social events playing friendly cards and dominoes. She is survived by her brothers Reginald (Betty) Marks of Norton, Harry Jr. (Idella) Marks of Sussex, Donald (Joyce) Marks of Vancouver, B.C., William (Marie) Marks of Edmonton, A.B.; sister Roberta (Kenneth) Coates of Saint John; several nieces and nephews.  

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday November 4, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Martins Baptist Church on Monday November 5, 2012 at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in St. Martins Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the SPCA Animal Rescue or the charity of one’s choice.
