Gerald Arthur (48) of Moncton NB, formerly of Renforth, died by accident on December 21 in the Philippines, while attempting to save the life of someone else. This accident was an example of the selflessness Gerald exemplified throughout his life.
He is survived by his parents Frank and Dolores Arthur of Rothesay; brother Frank (Catherine) Arthur and their children Matthew, Leah and Megan of Sherwood Park AB; and sister Michele (Doug) Bender of Ottawa ON. He is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
He is predeceased by an infant sister Catherine Louisa Arthur; paternal grand-parents Ethel (Arthur) and Gerald McInerney; and maternal grand-parents Catherine (Stephen) and Michael Joseph.
Gerald graduated from Kennebecasis Valley High School and then received his BA from St Thomas University followed by a BCommerce (eComm) from UNBSJ. Since graduation he has been employed with the Royal Bank of Canada in Moncton.
While Gerald enjoyed life, he was passionate about music, having graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Grade 8) he not only taught piano he spent hours entertaining his friends and family whenever the opportunity arose.
Gerald will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Tuesday, January 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 11:00 am from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (31 Gondola Pt Road, Rothesay). Interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery following a reception in the church hall.
