Hello Tammy,I was so very sorry to hear of Duane's passing.I had been keeping up with  the news of his journey through Kevin Wilson,my neighbor. I was glad to hear that he was able to use Al's elevator if only for awhile.i know I really do what you must be feeling now. Both our journeys were indeed mighty.May god bless you in the days ahead and remember if only this one thing...you did an amazing, amazing job looking after such a strong man.You two were certainly a team till the end If you need to talk please do not hesitate to call me.  Sincerely Eileen Dobson

Hi Tammy, after attending Duane''s service today I though of this poem called "The Dash".

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone,
from the beginning…to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,

but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read,
with your life’s actions to rehash…
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent YOUR dash?

~ I think Duane spent his "Dash" well, as witnessed by the support of family & friends today. Let me know if you need anything at all.
Your friend,
Laura

While there is nothing that I can say to help ease your sorrow,
take comfort in the knowledge that there will always be tomorrow.

I cannot comprehend just how sad you must be feeling,
the pain in your heart takes time to start the healing.

Let the memories of the years you have shared
wash over your heart and soul,
let the knowledge that you are in our prayers,
help you to console.

Let his spirit fill you with strength and love
may it help the pain decrease,
as each day that brings a glorious dawn
creates an inner peace.

with our most sincerest and
deepest condolences for your loss.

Anne (cousin) and family

My deepest condolences on Duane''s passing. I am proud to call Duane a friend and am a better person for having known him. Duane will live forever in the countless memories and stories his friends often tell. As Cameron grows to be a young man we look forward to sharing these with him to let him know that not only was he a fantastic father which I am sure he was, he was also a great friend.
