Duane Allen Reid

It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Duane Allen Reid of Saint John, who passed away on July 12, 2012 at home with his family and his wife Tammy at his side, after a courageous battle with ALS. Duane was born in St. Stephen June of 1967 to Ellen (Russell) Davis and Allen Reid. He worked for Irving Paper as a Vibration Analysist for 17 years. Was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying scuba diving, hiking, skiing, hunting, 4wheeling, trailering and going to the camp. Duane is survived by his loving wife Tammy Reid and only son Cameron at home; mother and step-father Ellen (Russell) Beverly Davis of St. Stephen and father and step-mother Allen and Marie Reid of BC; sister Kimberly Lewis (Dexter) of St. Stephen; step siblings Shelly (Rod) of Oshawa, ON; Ross (Jody), MaryJane (Darren), Suzanne (Ricky) all of St. Stephen and Nicole (Steve) of Calgary; grandparents Olive Reid and William and Hattie Russell; sister-in-law Dawn Kohout (Trevor) of Fredericton; mother-in-law and father-in-law Deborah and Douglas Gallant of Saint John nieces and nephews Kali and Ryan Lewis and Kassel and Merrik Kohout; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Melvin Reid and step-brother Billy Joe.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday July 15th and Monday July 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Celebration of Life to be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday July 17th at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Duane’s memory can be made to the ALS Society (info@alsnb.ca), Stan Cassidy Center or donor’s choice.
