Daniel Joseph Maloney

With heavy hearts, the family of Dan Maloney announces his passing after a lengthy illness, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on November 6th, 2016. Danny was born in Saint John on July 31, 1958; the eldest son of the late Maurice and Anne Marie (Leger) Maloney.

Danny’s professional music career spanned over 40 years.  Entertaining was his life’s passion and brought him immense joy. Whether he was entertaining on a cruise ship, or singing for hospital staff, he put his heart and soul into every performance.   He was a fun loving person, whose generosity knew no bounds.  Through many trials and tribulations his faith remained strong.  Dan always remained positive no matter what life threw at him.    

Survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Daniel of Saint John and Lee Terrence of Korea, and their mom Elaine Hatty Maloney.  Also left to mourn are his siblings Christine (Paul) Sands, Rosanne (the late Brian Lund) Maloney, Jim Maloney, Kevin (Denise) Maloney, and Jill (Les) Hayward.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St Peter’s Catholic Church, Clarendon Street on Wednesday, November 9th at 12:00 noon.   Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
