Carole J. Keddy

Carole Keddy passed away at home in January of 2016. Carole was born in Saint John in May of 1937 to the late Seymour and Viva (Bushey) Keddy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Carole graduated from Simonds Regional High School in 1955 and from New Brunswick Teacher’s College in 1956; later received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Physical Education from UNB in 1975. Following her career of 40 years in education, she became active in politics running for the Progressive Conservative party she served from 1999-2003. Carole was a former director of the Canadian Teacher’s Federation was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 53 and was active in serving her community thru the Salvation Army, Mothers March of Dimes, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and United Way.

Carole is survived by friends and family from Ontario her niece Karen Clouthier (Kim) of Petawawa, ON, nephew Daniel Keddy (late Maryann) of Chalk River, ON ; neice Linda Kaine of Guildford, ME and nephew David Jones of Maple, FL. Carole was great aunt to Jason, Dustin, Dan Jr., and Tracey; great-great aunt to Jade, Seth, Levi, Harper and Ieasha and great-great-great aunt to Jayden. Besides her parents, Carole was predeceased by her brother Ted Keddy and a sister Evelyn Jones.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424)

A  graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery on February 27th, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., with friends gathering at the office of Fernhill at,  200 Westmorland Road by 9:20 a.m. Donations in Carole’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army, Mothers March of Dimes, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the United Way.
