Brian David Stafford

Stafford, Brian - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Brian David Stafford, which occurred on Wednesday July 23, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1946 in Saint John he was the son of the late Bernard and Doris (Horgan) Stafford-Wade.  Brian was a great storyteller and gifted teacher.  He inspired many people to follow their dreams and go beyond even what they thought possible. Brian had a way of making ordinary experiences seem magical both in the classroom and in life. He had a passion for cooking and was a lover of history and travel. Brian coached many sports, most notably badminton and field hockey.  He was once awarded Saint John’s Coach of the Year. Many people will remember seeing Brian walking while reading a newspaper and smoking a pipe.  In recent years, Brian enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Linda, walking his dogs, and spending time writing novels.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his children Jeni (Lyle) Stafford of Halfmoon Bay, B.C. David (Margot) Stafford of Kansas City, M.O. and Cara (Alan) McKeown of Saint John; a sister Wendy Post of Saint John; grandchildren Ryan, Louis, Cameron, Susie, Doris and Ned.

The family invites you to celebrate his life during visitation at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) on Friday July 25, 2014 from 2-8 p.m.  The family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
