William Henry Johnson devoted husband of Theresa (Langlais) Johnson of Saint John, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 13, 2011 at the Bobby’s Hospice House. Born November of 1929 in Saint John he was the son of Ralph and Elmyra (Fillmore) Johnson. William was a Truck Driver and worked for McKinnon Transport and various trucking companies in Saint John.
He was a hard worker and always kept busy. Devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; he is survived by his loving wife Theresa of 59 years; sons Timothy (Dale) of Saint John, Wayne (Janet) of Fredericton and Phillip (Cherrie) of Saint John; daughters Mary Peddle (Donald) of Saint John, Joan Christie (Peter) of St. Stephen and Marilyn Gavin (Steven) of Saint John and Susan Nicol (Greg) of Grand Bay- Westfield; brothers Ralph (Sharon) and Alfred (Jeanette) both of Saint John; sisters Bessie White of Saint John, Annie Chambers (Russell of Moncton, Rita Weston (Arnold) of Upham and Shirley Hopey (Errol) of Saint John; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and canine companion Princess. Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his brothers Edward and Irvin and sisters Della White and Winnifred Ross.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday September 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday September 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in William’s memory can be made to the Bobby’s Hope Hospice House, Mind Care New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Chris O’Brien from Bobby’s Hospice House and all Staff and Volunteers for the care given to Bill and family. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
