The death of William (Bill) Raymond Thompson, of Ridgewood Veterans Wing occurred on Wednesday January 3, 2007. Born 1918 in Dawsonville, NB he was the son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Martin) Thompson. Bill was a Veteran of WWII serving in the 3rd Division as an Artillery Gunner, he was wounded and lost his leg in Caen, France in 1944. He worked as an Orthopedic Limb fitter retiring in 1972. Bill enjoyed woodworking, antique cars, snowmobiling, traveling and spending winters in St. Petersburg, Florida. .He was a member of the War Amps of Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Titus; daughters Ann Maston of Burtts Corner, Lynn Wallace (Michael) of Darlings Island and Jean A. Thompson of Vancouver; grandchildren Lisa Phillips (Wayne), Belinda Deuell (Bill), Brent Wallace (Taya), Andy Wallace, Jason LeBlanc, Jessica Huber (Bob); great grandchildren Morgan and Sheldon Phillips, Ian and William Wallace, Emily Deuell and Ellareen Huber; brothers Ronald Thompson (Joyce) of Waterville, George Thompson (Hazel) of Hardwood Ridge and Manford Thompson (Jean) of St. Catherine's, Ontario; sisters Frances Hill and Gladys Sayer both of Chipman; sister in laws Daisy Thompson and Bernice Thompson; extended family Judy Cromwell, Kim, Bob, Chelsea, Kaitlyn and Colin MacKenzie, Greg, Leanne, Cameron and Carson Cromwell, Andy, Krista, Austin, Brandon and Alexis Cromwell, Richard and Linda Titus, Keith, Cecilia, Dylan and Connor Titus, brother in law Ronald Williams and good friend Mary Sullivan; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Sydney, Howard, Ernest and Thomas; sister Violet Demmons and Goldie Dickie.
