McNeill, Wallace – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wallace “Wally” McNeill which occurred on August 22, 2013 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born April 29, 1924 in Deer Island, NB he was the loving husband to the late Jacqueline (Patrick) McNeill. During his life he was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53 & #69. Wallace served for 3 years in the Canadian army during WWII in the United Kingdom. After returning home from the army he worked at Canadian Liquid Air/Seacoast Oxygen for 37 years and was a volunteer with the Simonds Fire and Ambulance Department for 15 years. Wallace is survived by a son Ian of Elgin, N.B; daughters Margaret (Gus) Laurentiadis of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Donna Richard of Elgin, N.B, step-daughter Carol (Gerald) Swan of Saint John, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his mother Altha Lambert; daughter Rebecca Trask; brother Stirling Lambert.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Tribute to a Veteran’s Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday August 29, 2013 at 1:30pm, immediately followed by a Memorial Service. The interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wallace’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
