Vera Jean Fenwick

Vera Jean Fenwick passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Monday, October 21st, 2013, at Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born Cross Creek, NB, in January of 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Geneva (Kirby) MacDonald.  In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter Sandra (Shane) Wilson; brothers Dow and Phillip MacDonald and nephew Michael MacDonald.
Jean was a graduate of Stanley High School and received her RN from Victoria Public Hospital School of Nursing.  Through the years Jean was a devoted wife to her husband Kenneth H. Fenwick, as well as a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Jean and Ken enjoyed many winters in Fort Myers, Florida and summers at their cottage on Belleisle Bay where they had many happy family gatherings.  Jean was an active member of the Kennebecasis United Baptist Church, including their ladies bible study.   She was also a member of the Palmetto Palms Church choir in Fort Myers.
Jean is survived by her loving husband Kenneth of 66 years; sons Talmadge (Marjorie) and Mark (Beth) both of Quispamsis; daughters Beverley Cole (Roger) of Rothesay, Carolyn Beazley (Michael) of Halifax; sister Ila Reid (Budd) of Fredericton; 12 cherished grandchildren Erin, Stephen, Kenneth, David, Matthew, Kerri, Gina, Natalie, Natasha, Andrew, Christopher and Scott; 16 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.  Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday, October 24th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday October 25th at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Alzheimer Association.
