Stuart G. Stevens

Stevens, Mr. Stuart George - The death of Stuart G. Stevens of Grandview Ave., husband of Mrs. Lila (Crowe) (Devlin) Stevens occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 21, 2001. Born in Saint John Mr. Stevens was a son of the late Roy and Mary (Cotton) Stevens. Stuart was a Plater by trade and was employed with the Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd. for over 35 years. He was a member of the Marine and Shipbuilders Union Local #3 as well as the Buffalo Club.

Surviving besides his wife Lila is his daughter Glenda Stevens of Saint John, step-daughter Nancy Van Weston and step-sons Ronald, Raymond and Michael Devlin, brothers Roy (Olive), Leonard (Marie) and Melvin (Jean) all of Saint John and sisters Patricia Carpenter of Saint John and Florence Jukes of Brampton, Ontario. Stuart is also survived by 1 son and 3 daughters from a previous marriage as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 3 brothers Kenneth, Clifford and Gerald.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) from where the service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2001 @ 2:00 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
