Robert Arthur Pearce

The death of Robert (Bob) Arthur Pearce loving husband to Elinor Joanne (Lawson) Pearce occurred on Sunday April 11, 2010 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1930 in Saint John, he was the son of the late William Arthur and Marjorie Irene Pearce. Bob graduated from Saint John Vocational School where he was an active member of Army Cadets and Goalie for the high school hockey team. He was Goalie for the North End Saint John Maroons when they won the NB Junior Hockey Championship in 1948-1949. He began his employment for Alban Emery as a Master Furniture Maker and also worked for McAvity & Co as a pattern maker. He then began his own business as a carpenter/cabinetmaker and actively worked in the business until his failing health in October 2009. Bob loved his woodworking, was extremely talented in his field and well known as a cabinetmaker. In addition to his cabinetmaking, in 2005 he began working for Lily Fasteners as a Service Representative and was considered to be a very unique individual and a special gift to this company. He loved fishing and belonged to various bowling leagues, winning several tournaments. He coached minor hockey and was involved in Boy Scouts. Besides his wife Elinor he is survived by two sons Wayne Pearce of Edmonton, AB; Terry Pearce of Saint John; one daughter Brenda Pearce of Saint John; daughter-in-law Carmen Pearce; grandchildren Kenny and Kevin of Sanikilvaq, Nunavut and Nicholas and Nathan of Saint John; great grandchildren Leeann, Alexander and Lilliane. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one son Mark Douglas Pearce.
