It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Fraser Beman announce his passing which occurred on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, after a brief illness. Richard was born in Saint John, NB on August 27, 1943 to the late William and Jenny (Appleby) Beman and was the loving husband to Geraldine “Jody” (Noftell) Beman.
Richard was a hardworking man, serving time in Germany in the Armed Forces as a peacekeeper. Upon returning home, he established himself as a Journeymen Red Seal Carpenter. Richard was a peaceful man who loved to share stories. He had a great love of history and enjoyed researching his family genealogy. He was an avid coin collector and took pride in sharing that passion with his grandchildren. He was also a devoted family man who will be deeply missed by all.
Along with his wife Jody, left to mourn are his sons; Richard (Shelly) and Daniel (Michelle) and his daughter Lisa (Kevin) Vienneau, his 3 beloved grandchildren Jessica, Alyssa and Jacob. He will also be greatly missed by Jack and Luke. He will be deeply missed by his brother Robert (Alma) and sisters Bette Campbell (Reid) and Diana Cameron (Hugh) along with several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Kevin, brothers Edward, James and Jack, and sisters Peggy Roy, Lil O’Brien and Shirley Beman.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Richard’s wishes, no visitation will be held. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11am at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Richard made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the Beman family.
