To Father Bill's family, I will miss Father Bill for all his understanding and his sharing of his faith. Often, knowing how I loved old spiritual books, he would bring me a box of books. My favourite is a book called kindness which exemplifies Fr. Bill.

We extend our sympathy to all of Father Phillips' family. We met him 30 years ago at St. Anthony's in Upham where we were getting married. We felt so comfortable talking with him and we felt blessed that he was to perform our ceremony. Sadly, he left the church just weeks before our Sept. 6 wedding. We were so disappointed that he could not marry us due to the wonderful relationship that had developed as we got to know him. He was respectful, kind and practical and it was as if we had known him forever. We will always remember his words of wisdom: "You must be at peace with yourself".
Sincerely, Carmen & Lloyd Meehan

Way back in 1964 when I was in grade 1 at St. Rose School, Father Phillips was the very first priest I ever met. There were 8 children in our family and he remembered each one of us and kept contact with 3 of us closely. He was a holy Catholic Priest who carried his faith and spread it as he knew how. He was kind to all and was an inspiration to me throughout my life. He is now in heaven with God and Mother Mary.

We were very saddened to learn of Father Bill's passing and extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his family for their loss. I have known Father Bill for almost 55 years, and it all began at the old CYO when I was a member of a boys' group called Crusaders, let by both Father Bill and the late Father Leo Sullivan. Father Bill introduce us the track & field and I still have the rosary ring he gave me. He said I might as well pray while I was running around the track. He had me appear on his cable TV show, and his radio show a few times. Great memories. I will never forget his kindness and the devotion to his faith. Our caring thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Most sincerely,
Bernie & Elizabeth

Elizabeth, Marjorie and all Father Bill's Family, Dian and I would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to you all in the passing of Father Bill. We have a special rememberance of Father Bill as he was the priest that officiated at our wedding. Besides that he was very close to Dian as she was growing up and had the utmost respect for Father Bill. As well I and my family had a close connection with Father Bill as he grew up with my mother and father in the north end. I also worked with Father Bill on the tv show Catholic Focus which he produced and held very dear to his heart. Dian and I also along with Father Bill, Elizabeth and Marjorie helped to sponsor a Vietnamese family in Saint John with the help of Stella Maris Church of which they were sincerely thankful for sponsoring them and will miss him. We never until recently lost contact with Father Bill as we had seen him often at mass at Rocmaura. We was truly a gentleman and very caring of everyone and he will be missed so much. God be with you at thisdifficult time !

He seemed to make an effort to include everyone and to call people by name. His kind and gentle manner will be missed.I am grateful for the words of the Lord Jesus,"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me though he die yet shall he live." John 11:25

Marjorie and Elizabeth.
I was saddened to hear of Fr. Bill's death.
I lived with Bill at the Cathedral when I was ordained in 1978. He was so supportive as you were Marjorie as you were our secretary. Later, I worked with Elizabeth at Chancery ...so I have such fond memories of all the Phillip's siblings.
My deepest condolences, prayer support and friendship at this time. I am proud to have known and worked with Fr. Bill. May he now receive the reward of his goodness.
