Paul E Burnside

Paul Burnside, loving husband of Pamela Herrington Burnside, passed away in the arms of his wife and daughter on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care, after a courageous and valiant fight. Born in Saint John, January 25, 1959 he was the son of the late Gordon Edwin Burnside and Florence Evelyn (Knowles).

Paul worked for Labour Union Local 900 for 25 years. He was a car enthusiast and loved his Harley Davidson. Paul was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family especially his daughter Avery, who was the greatest joy of his life.

In addition to his wife of 16 years, Pam, he is survived by his daughter Avery (13); sisters Shirley Latimer (David) of Saint John and Linda Crocker (Robert) of Norwich, ON; brother Donnie Burnside of Estevan, SK; mother-in-law Lorraine Herrington (late Byard); sister-in-law Patricia Lively (late David); special aunt Irma Burnside; nieces and nephews Melissa Crocker, Scott Burnside, Kelli Latimer, Lislie Crocker, Karyn Fillmore (Peter) and Michael Lively (Jessica), several great nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday, March 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Paul may be made to Romero House Soup Kitchen, SJRH Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
