Joan and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Nellie's passing. She was one of a kind. Her gentle ways and beautiful spirit will not be forgotten. She was such a kind person. I loved seeing a twinkle in her eye when we had lively conversations. That twinkle is now in the heavens and this jewel of a lady shines down on us now as do the stars in the sky. My sincere condolences. Shova

I knew Nellie only a short time. And the time I spent with her and getting to know her is one of the best moments in my life. She loved my reborn baby dolls that I take on a weekly basis to the nursing home and they made her so "happy" Nellie sure won my heart over!!! She would spend time talking to the reborns and she thought they were real babies. I sure am gonna miss her. I loved Nellie and she will always be remembered by her sunshine smile. I sure grew attached to her. My condolences to Nellie's family. May God give you all strength during this time. Take care and God Bless.

I taught with Nellie at Bayview School and never heard her raise her voice. Her ability to teach cursive writing gave all her students writing skills for a lifetime. She was dearly loved by all those who were fortunate to be in her grade four class in the first room on the left. She made a lasting impression on all the lives she touched and will never be forgotten.

Miss McLeod was my grade 4 teacher at Bayview School. There are teachers that you remember and those you do not remember; she was definitely a teacher you remember. I was in grade 4 over 40 years ago; but, I still remember Miss Mc Leod. I have thought of her many times over the years. I am glad I had her as my teacher. She will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. Miss McLeod was my 4 grade teacher at Lakewood School and needless to say, was my favorite. I remember her fountain pen, using peacock blue ink, loved the color.
I have thought of her often over the years and wondered where she was I , hoping to maybe run into her. I see the color of peacock blue and think of her to this day. She made a lasting impression on me. Hugs to you Miss McLeod

So sorry to hear of Nellie's (Miss McLeod's , as she was always referred to by my family) passing. She was my favorite teacher. When I came home from school the first day of grade 4 and told my parents that I had Miss McLeod as my teacher, my father said" Miss McLeod taught me and you have the best teacher", and he was definitely right. She also taught my brother Mark Gillcrist, ten years after me. I would see her occasionally in my parenting years and she would always inquire about my family and knew them all by name. She was truly an amazing woman who shaped so many lives.
