Murray Melvin Blizzard

Murray Melvin Blizzard, loving husband of 52 years to Geraldine (Kierstead) Blizzard, passed peacefully on Friday November 7, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1940 in Saint John he was the son of the late Percy and Isabelle (Martin) Blizzard. Murray was employed as a Foreman with Maritime Paper for 36 years.  Murray was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the “River Valley Old Timer’s”. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and grandchildren and meeting with his friends at the Grand Bay Tim Horton’s. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Shawn (Muriel), Mark (Tina), Jeff and Troy (Michelle); brothers Jimmy (Norma), David (Deanna), John (Linda) and Wayne (Pam); sisters Joan (Bud) Theall, Jean (Ralph) Little, Barb (Bill) Knox, Betty Ann Lamb, Nancy Mowery and Gertrude (Chris) Grant; grandchildren Joselyn (Adam), Zachary (Krista), Nathan (special nurse Sam), Ryan, Hayley and Lexi; step-grandchildren Deanna and Alyssa; great-granddaughter Aleigha; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Percy “Whipper”, Donnie and Malcolm, sisters Doreen and Mildred and a grandson Mitchell Blizzard.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Tuesday November 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
