Mary Catherine (Collins) Tobin

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Mary Catherine Tobin, wife of the late Gerard Anthony Tobin, announces her passing which occurred on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born December 5, 1938 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Isabella (Lewis) Collins. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her son Vincent; twin brother Vince, brothers George and Dave and sister Bertha.

Mary was a member of Main Brace, Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 2, she enjoyed reading and walking. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children Jerome Mulrooney, MaryAnn Lainey (Joseph), Rose Marie Kondrat, Flo Beckwith (Perry) and Rick Mulrooney (Shauna); siblings Barbara Sheppard (Roy), Patrick Collins Jr. (Frances), Annabelle Bouzane (William), Jean Downton (Reginald), Sheila Hiscock (Terry), Kay Basha (Frederick) and Norma Hutchens (Donald); cherished grandchildren Angela, Amanda, Sheila, Dinah, James, Ashley, Candace, Travis, Destiny and Aylssa; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

By Mary’s request, there will be no visitations. The family invites you to a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69, 714 Wilson Street, West Saint John, on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 8pm – 12am. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
