Basque, Mary R. - Unexpectedly on January 12 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Mary Rose Basque of Union Street. Born in Miscou Island, wife of the late Joseph Isaac Basque; daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Beaudin) Bizeau. She was a member of the Cathedral Parish for a number of years. She is survived by three sons, Lawrence and his wife Monica of Taber, Alberta, Norman and his wife Karen of Langley, B.C. and David and his wife Cathy of London, Ont., four daughters, Lena Crowe and her husband Arthur, Linda Johnson and her husband Gerry. Patricia Martin and her husband Kevin, all of Saint John and Anne Marie Basque and her husband Marcel of Tracadie, four sisters, Marie MacDonald, Lena Boucher, Edith Moore and her husband John, and Marion Bernier, all of Saint John as well as 24 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Douglas and two brothers, Lawrence and Albert Bizeau.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home (646-2424), 230 Westmorland Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 12 noon from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Friends and family are welcome at Fundy on Wednesday, 7-9 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donation to the Sisters of Charity or to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
