It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Faye SNOW (Butland) (Martin), wife of the late Joseph E. Snow; daughter of the late Flossie Rolfe Butland and the late William H. Butland. Marjorie was born in Alma, NB, August of 1933, and passed away on November 4, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Marjorie’s greatest love was her children, grandchildren, great- and great-great grandchildren. She had a great passion for reading, quilting, and cooking. Marjorie is survived by three sons Gerald Martin (Linda) of Ajax, ON, Robert Martin (Pat) of Goderich, ON and William “Billy” Martin (Lynn) of Calgary, AB; three daughters Ceci Snow (Joel) of Sussex, Dawn Cochrane (Kelly) of Saint John and Brenda McGrath of Saint John; stepson Richard Snow of Saint John and two step-daughters Gail Snow of Saint John and Sandra Ritchie (Daryl) of Rothesay; sister Priscilla “Pat” Brown of St. Martins; brother William Butland of Saint John; 32 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; dear friend Sylvie Carroll and phone-buddy Shirley Martell; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents and husband Joseph, Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband Arthur Martin; daughters Pamela Martin and Julie Martin-Burns and granddaughter Amanda Cochrane; four sisters Pearl Butland, Helen Jones, Marlene Whitney and Treva Langstroth and two brothers Leslie and Rupert Butland.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), with visitation on Sunday November 6th from 2-4 p.m. and Monday November 7th from 2-4 p.m. Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday November 8th from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment to be held at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Marjorie’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
