Marguerite Bernice (Maloney) Davidson

Marguerite, (Maloney) Davidson loving wife of the late Duncan Davidson passed away with her family at her side December 7, 2012, at Loch Lomond Villa. Born February of 1918 in Fredericton, she was the first child and daughter of the late Alfred and Gladys (Goodine) Maloney. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she came from a musical family. Marguerite was a talented pianist and sang in Knights of Columbus operettas and in church choirs at Stella Maris and St. Joachim’s. She was a lifelong member of the C.W.L. In her early days she performed for patients at the DVA Hospital and later played at Loch Lomond Villa. She also enjoyed playing bingo and was devoted to her family. She adored her grandsons who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Mary Ellen Davidson of Bains Corner; four grandsons, Stewart of Sussex Corner, and Robert, Scott and Clinton of Bains Corner; three sisters Mary Benoit (Clovis) of Saint John, Dorothy Swain of Ottawa, ON, and Geraldine Donovan (William) of Rothesay; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends. Besides her parents and her husband Duncan, Marguerite was pre-deceased by grandson Craig Joseph, sister Eileen and brothers Bernard, Vincent and Maurice.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmoreland Road (646 2424) with visitation on Sunday and Monday December 9th and 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive on December 11th at 12 noon. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, The Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
