Margaret Jean (Taylor) Kay

Surrounded by her family, Margaret J. Kay, loving wife of Lawrence Kay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 following a brief illness, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 30, 1936 in Sussex, NB she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Frances (Whelpley) Taylor. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sons Gary and Danny, brothers Bob Whelpley and George Whelpley; daughter-in-law Cathy; and grandsons Michael and Kirk Gould.

Marg was an avid bowler, a member of Glen Falls Pastoral Charge and a volunteer at the Volunteer Centre and the Regional Hospital for 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her loving husband Larry, she is survived by her sons Kenny Kay (Debbie), Kevin Kay (Debbie), Dwayne Kay (Shelley), David Kay (Sharon) and Tom Kay (Leanne); daughters Brenda Harris (David), Debbie Haley (Tom) and Linda Gould (Brian); 25 cherished grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Gordon Taylor and Kenneth Taylor (Rose); sisters Betty Richard, Marion Soucy, and Marilyn Dombraski; her canine companion Buddy; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230  Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, October 28 from 2 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. followed by a reception. A private family interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Margaret may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Cherry Brook Zoo, Joshua Group or  to the charity of the donor’s choice.
