Leona Marie Gibbs

GIBBS, Leona Marie - The death of Leona Marie Gibbs occurred peacefully at the age of 88, on Sunday December 23rd, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1919 in Rogersville to the late Marc and Eleanore (Bourque) Goguen. Leona worked for the Admiral Beatty for 10 years in the housekeeping department. Leona was a devoted Roman Catholic and belonged to the CWL for over 25 years. Devoted mother and grandmother she enjoyed Bingo and gardening most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons Art Gibbs of Saint John and Richard Gibbs (Charlene) of Saint John; one daughter Eileen Gurak (Ron) of Edmonton, AB; three sisters Julie Hache of Rogersville, Eva Nickerson of Saint John and Rita LeBlanc of New Bedford, MA; six grandchildren Michael and Toni Malone, Holly Damery (Derek), Kim Meloche, Benjamin Gibbs (Andrea) and Katie Gibbs; one great grandson Hunter Damery.
Besides her parents Leona was predeceased by her husband Albert Gibbs; brothers Amede, Wilfred, Arthur, Marcel, Fidel; step-brother Andre; sisters Melina, Marie, Delima, Mary Anne, Alice and two step-sisters Philomine and Ozile.
