Jean E. Ferguson

Jean Eleen (Niles) Ferguson passed into the presence of the Lord while at home on Saturday, March 25th, 2017, with her family by her side.  Born 1930, in Woodstock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Flora (Boulanger) Niles.  Jean was a stay at home mother raising her 6 children.  She was a devoted member of Calvary Temple for over 42 years.  She loved to attend and sing at the Light Spot.  She led a full and exciting life that included deer hunting, skydiving, stock car driving and bungee jumped at the age of 62.  She was an avid golfer and had a hole in one in her late 70’s.  She was the last original member of the Glen View United Church Housewives Bowling League.  Jean had an incredible love for family and was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren.        

Jean is survived by her sons Arthur “Skip” (Debbie) of Nova Scotia, Michael (Lori) of Alberta, Randall (Donna) of Ontario; daughters Janet Ferguson of British Columbia, Krista Boucher (David) of Saint John, Lori Ferguson (Michael Fretz) of Rothesay; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.   

Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband William Arthur Ferguson, brother Donald Niles and sisters Helen Doiron, Rita Trail and Ella Muzzerall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, March 31st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Celebration of Jean’s Life will take place at Calvary Temple (83 Sydney St.) on Saturday, April 1st at 9 a.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
