The death of James Ansley Weston occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 20, 2012. Born 1921 in Fairfield to the late Harry and Frances (Armstrong) Weston. He is survived by loving wife Barbara (Smith) Weston; sons Alfred (Mary) Weston of Churchland Road, Ronald (Donna) Weston of Willow Grove and Donald (Sherry) Weston of Fairfield; daughters Valerie (Fred MacDonald) of Upham and Laverne (Stephen) Hopey of St. Martin’s; chosen son Harvey Mcrae (Kathleen) of Cape Breton; brothers Arnold (Rita) Weston of Upham and Charles Weston of Saint John; sisters Leatha McGrath of Willow Grove and Elizabeth Chamberlain of Moncton; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. James served overseas in World War II from 1943-1945 in the Carlton York Regiment. He later cooked in lumber camps and worked at Thompson’s General Store, Loch Lomond. He loved being outdoors, barbequing, wood splitting, picking berries and especially enjoyed when all of his boys came home for hunting season.
Resting at Fairfield Baptist Church Hall with visitations on Sunday, April 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday, April 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held from Fairfield Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Brown’s Cemetery.
