Uncle John,
I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Irene’s passing. She was a lovely lady and will be sadly missed by all of us. I’ll always remember her asking me to “back comb” her hair when I curled it for her. Unfortunately, Gerry and I are not able to be there with you and the family today, but please know that are thoughts and prayers are with you always. I am thankful that Dad was able to be there with you during this difficult time. Lean on family for strength and cherish the wonderful memories you have of Aunt Irene. She as a lady like no other!
Take care and lots of love,
Gerry, Lorena and Cash

Dear John, Frances and family:
We were saddened to hear of Irene's passing. We are thankful to have known Irene and have so enjoyed our times with her. What a special lady! It was always so nice to be invited to the Porter cottage when we were home visiting, to share a meal and enjoy a fun time of fellowship. Irene was always interested in what the kids were doing and made them feel special. I also remember how she enjoyed the MacAfee reunions and how Irene was always smiling. She always took such a genuine interest in the people around her and had a sparkle in her eye.
We're sorry that we are unable to travel to be there at this time but we are thinking and praying for each of you.
Love,
Gayle, Eric, Joshua, Benjamin and Caroline Murray

Uncle John, Grammy (Frances) and family,
We were very saddened to hear about the passing of Aunt Rene. She was a loving aunt and a jolly lady who could always be counted on for a smile, chuckle or a sympathetic ear. I have very fond memories of all the time we spent with her and you Uncle John, growing up. She was also extremely fortunate to have had all the love and support that you provided to her for all the years that you two shared. She was also blessed to have such a loving sister and best friend in you Gram. Kimberley and I will be thinking of you both and are sorry that we will be unable to be there in Saint John this week.
Love,
Saul, Kimberley and Eli

Dear Uncle John, Paulette and I were very sorry to hear of Aunt Irene''s passing. We have very fond memories of Aunt Irene from your yearly visits to Newfoundland and our less frequent visits to St. John. I fondly remember a visit we had with our kids to your house and a day trip we had to St. Andrews where Aunt Irene had some interesting stories about growing up in St. Andrews. Aunt Irene always showed a keen interest in what we were doing in school, latter university and then with our careers.
Aunt Irene always had a different expression each visit and I especially remember "Hot diggity dog!" and "Isn''t that wild!" As kids we got a great kick of listening to Aunt Irene express herself.
We also remember Aunt Irene for her poetry and meal time graces. She could recite some beautiful poems and was always asked to say grace at mom and dad''s table.
Aunt Irene has created many cherished memories for us and will not be forgotten by our family.
Wayne & Paulette Manuel

The memories we have of Irene will never vanish as they are held very near and dear to our hearts. We will never forget the wonderful times at the camp - steaks on the BBQ, and always a delicious treat! Walking down to the beach and sneaking a peek inside the barn. We will never forget Christmas Eve at Mom and Dad''s on Wildwood street and all the fun talks about what the PC''s were up to next! She will always be remembered, she will always hold a special place in our hearts and she will always be loved. We miss her, already.

Uncle John, Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Aunt Irene. Even though you lived so far away you were both still an active part of our family. As I was growing up your yearly visits to Newfoundland was alway a much welcomed event. I still remember the summer that you both took me back to your home in Saint John after your visit (that was in the early 1970's). Aunt Irene was a kind and loving person to all. Take comfort in the fact that she is no longer suffering and may the love of your family and friends help you through the difficult days ahead. Love Margo
