Gordon Edward Davis

The death of Gordon Edward Davis, loving husband of Sally (LeBlanc) Davis occurred on Monday October 4, 2010 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1936 in Saint John, he was the son of Dorothy (Hopcutt) Davis and the late Raymond Davis. Gordon worked as a Frameman for NB Tel for 35 years. He was a Pioneer for NB Tel and a member of Jervis Bay Legion # 53. Gordon spent many summers camping at Wally’s campground where he enjoyed his time playing shuffleboard and dancing with his favorite dance partner, his sister-in-law Sandra Davis. He loved bowling, playing horseshoes but his favorite pastime was fishing with his brothers.  Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children Pam (Jim) Cossey, Vincent (Christine) Davis and Jamie (Patty) Davis all of Saint John; brothers Donnie Davis, Douglas (Sandra) Davis both of Saint John and Ronald Davis of Nova Scotia; sister Mitzi Garnett of Hampton; brother-in-law Leonard (Donna) LeBlanc of Saint John; grandchildren Devin, Ryan, Josh, Eric, Lisa, Leanne, Kristin and Jillian; several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy, sisters-in-law Shirley and Bernice and brother-in-law Douglas Garnett.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday October 5, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday October 6, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday October 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
