Frederick Joseph White

The passing of Frederick Joseph White, companion of Kathleen Stevens of 31 years, occurred on Saturday March 26, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1924 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Edward and Jennie (Preston) White. Fred worked 21 years for Domtar Roofing Materials and then 23 years in the finishing room of Irving Paper, before becoming a member of the Irving Retiree’s Association. He was an avid sports fan, an accomplished athlete especially in hockey and baseball and he had the wonderful ability of always making people laugh. Besides his companion Kathleen, he is survived by his sons David (Audrey) of Chipman, Dan (Josee) of St. Eugene, ON and Frederick (Bertha) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Joye Prudence Olive and son Terrance Campbell White.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Monday March 28, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday March 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
