Francis Xavier J. McGinn

McGinn- The death of Francis Xavier J. McGinn, husband of M. Hazel L. (Willett) McGinn of Clifton Royal occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 20, 1996. Born in Fredericton, N.B., a son of the late Louis and Teresa (Flood) McGinn. He had been employed as an accountant at the Royal Bank for 45 years retiring in 1971. He had been a member of St. Pius X Church where he served as the organist and choir director for 20 years. At the time of his death he was a member of St. Bridgets Church in Chapel Grove where he has served as the organist for 20 years. During his lifetime he played the piano and saxophone in several musical bands. Mr. McGinn was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus in Woodstock, N.B. Surviving besides his wife, Hazel, are two sons: Peter and his wife, Nola of Quispamsis. Darrell and his wife, Angela of St. John's Nfld., two daughters, Teresa, Mrs. Lawrence Allen of Saint John and Sheila, Mrs. Stephen MacMurray of Halifax, N.S., one sister, Mrs. Anna Moffatt of McAdam, N.B., 13 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Louis and Clement and one sister, Bernice Trann.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Homes, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), with visiting hours on Sunday from 7-9p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget's Church in Cahpel Grove on Tuesday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
