Emily Mary “LuLu” Poirier

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Emily “LuLu” Poirier announce her passing while surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Born in Dalhousie, NB., she was the daughter of the late Amos and Albina (Bertin) Dignard.  

LuLu had a warm and loving spirit, self-sacrificing, always more concerned with the care of others than herself.  She was the first to offer to help anyone in any way.  She had a heart of gold and truly cared for people.  She loved her family, and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

LuLu is survived by her children: Michael (Katherine) of Barrie, On., Ryan (Amanda) of Edmonton, AB, and Rachel (Scott) Warren of Saint John; brother Vincent Dignard of Chandler, QC; sisters Lillian Robichaud of Chandler, QC and Leona Lemay of Barrie, ON; precious grandchildren Emma, Madison, Rowan, Jacob, Nolan and Dakota; her special friend Steve Green; as well as, several cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Along with her parents, she was also predeceased by her former husband Charles Poirier.  

Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation Friday from 6-8 pm.  Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am, followed by a reception.  Interment at a later date in Dalhousie, NB.  Donations in LuLu's memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Special thanks to Dr. Burnell and the staff of the Oncology Department, as well as, nurse Diane and all of the other nurses on the Palliative Care floor of the SJRH who took such excellent care of our mom.
