Douglas Gordon DeVenne

With sadness the family announces the passing of Douglas Gordon DeVenne, loving husband of Sandra (Andrews) DeVenne which occurred on Sunday January 6, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1941 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Gordon and Charlotte (Guthrie) DeVenne. Douglas spent many summers at his camp in the Musquash, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his daughter Alicia, grandchildren Nicole and Kypton and his wife Sandra. Besides his wife Sandra, he is survived by his sons Keith and Wesley (Judy) both of Halifax, Paul of Saint John; daughters Suzanne of Halifax and Michaela and Alicia both of Saint John; grandchildren Christopher, Stephen, Sarah Dawn, Anthony, Jasmine, Jessica, Zachery, Nicole and Kypton; several great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sons John and Benjamin; a daughter Susan, brothers Richard and Kim and son-in-law Josh.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday January 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday January 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the charity of one’s choice.
