Doris Mae Turner

Doris Mae Turner, wife of the late Alvin Arthur Turner, of Saint John passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 14, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born 1927 in Saint John she was the adopted daughter of the late William and Annie (Duffy) Baxter and her biological mother Hazel Train. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons Rick Turner (Imelda), Alvin “Bud” Turner (Cindy) and Sterling Turner (Mary Biddiscombe) all of Saint John; daughter Nancy Richard (Donald) of Halifax; cherished grandchildren Charity Turner (Dave Williams), Benjamin Turner (Lisa Frizzell), Eric Turner (Tammy), Mackenzie Turner, Robin Turner, Jacqueline Richard, Kristin Garfield and Calista Richard; great grandson TJ Rairdon; sisters Alice Urquhart (the late Ralph Urquhart) of Kingston, ON, Betty Mathias (John) of Niagara Falls, ON, Donna Train-LeBlanc of Hamilton, ON, Norma Huestis of Saint John and Carol Train; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she is predeceased by her brothers Sydney Baxter and Ron Train.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday December 16, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. A private family service will take place. Donations in memory of Doris to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Unit Saint John Regional Hospital.
