Doreen Joyce (Hunter) Anthony

At the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her family, Doreen Joyce Anthony, beloved wife of 60 years to Burdell “Bert” Anthony, passed peacefully into the arms of our dear Lord on Monday November 12, 2012.  Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Doris Hunter.  Doreen worked for several years at MRA’s before moving on to the baby department at Sears until her retirement.  She loved gardening and feeding her hummingbirds at the camp.  She really enjoyed rug hooking and did beautiful crewel work and she and Bert were blessed to enjoy many travelling adventures throughout the years.  Doreen’s greatest love was for her family and she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to her loving husband Bert, Doreen is survived by her children Judy (John) Losier, Barb (Fred) Dickinson, and Mark (Mary Jean) Anthony;  her precious grandchildren Jeff, Russ, Tony, Adam, Darren and Darlene;  great grandchildren Courtney and Braxtinn;  her  brother Donald Hunter,  and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Arrangements under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John NB (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday November 15, 2012 at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am.  Burial in Fernhill Cemetery followed by a reception at the funeral home.
