It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Charles Frank Dobson on December 5, 2017 at Carleton-Kirk Lodge. He was born in Keirstead Mountain NB on July 4, 1943 to the late Charles and Constance (Hersey) Dobson and was the loving husband to his late wife Joan Carol (Banks) Dobson.
Charles was a fun and funny kind of guy. He was easy going and easy to get along with. He was a prankster who loved playing jokes on people and teasing them. Charles worked as a psychiatric attendant at CentraCare for many years before retiring, when he and his wife Joan moved to the country and that was such a happy experience for him. He loved being in nature and breathing the country air. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, he liked to put together jigsaw puzzles, and do word searches and crossword puzzles. He was a very faithful individual who was quite involved in the church, and achieved his fourth degree within the Knights of Columbus #6766. Above all, he was a family man, thoroughly devoted to his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Charles is survived by his son Harold (Tammy) Dobson and daughter Crystal (Daniel) Bordage, grandchildren; Daniel Joseph Jr., Tessa, Devin, Denise, Stefannie and Gregory, great grandchildren; Aryia, Cassadee, Aurora, Theodor, Archer, Tyler, Sophie and Camden, his sisters Edith (William) Chilton and Ruth (Steve) Northeast, brother-in-law Giles Taylor, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife Joan, he was predeceased by his sister Shirley Taylor.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8pm and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial donations in Charles’ memory made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society, Carleton-Kirk Lodge or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
