Barbara Margaret (McHugh) Weir

Allan (Amy), David (Cathy) and Father Ken are saddened, yet faith-filled, as we announce the death of our mother at Bobby's Hospice on November 23, 2016.  Mom was born July 12, 1922 in Little River (Red Head) to Arthur D. McHugh and Ellen T. White.

Joining us in our grief are: our sister-in-law Diane (+ Tom); her grandson John T. and granddaughter Joan (Paul Thomas); and her great granddaughters Jesse and Rachel.

Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by our Dad;  John Vernon (1970) and our brother Thomas L. (2005),  her siblings; Bernard, Gerald, Hubert, Thomas, Bill, Donald, Connie, Mary and Helen, and in infancy, Austin, Kenneth and Eugene.  The last surviving member of the McHugh family is Irene, of Saint John.

We are proud of our Mom’s many accomplishments, she was a lady of wisdom, a lady who loved and encouraged us to always strive for the better things in life, and to never lose hope. 

Mom is being waked at the Fundy Funeral Home (230 Westmorland Road, 646-2424) on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 3-8pm.  A Mass of Thanksgiving and Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at noon at the Church of our Lady of Assumption, 360 Dufferin Row.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
