Valerie Anne Kincade

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Valerie Kincade of Saint John on March 22, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Montreal, February 12, 1946, she was predeceased by her parents John and Felicia (Nixon) Clements.

Valerie is survived by her partner Marj Mullin and her three children:  son David Kincade (Anastasiya Bakunina and her son Danila) of Edmonton; daughters Karla Kincade (Jamie Wildgen) of Ottawa, and Kendra Kincade (Corey Ness) of Edmonton; Kendra’s four children Cody Vail (Ashley McWilliam) of Edmonton, Tori Vail (Stephen Li) of Charlottetown, Jimmy and Rosie Johnson both of Edmonton, and Corey’s sons Graeme and Cameron Ness of Edmonton, and her great grandson Ethan and his mother Laura Foote of Edmonton, as well as cousins John Growen (Coquitlam, BC) and Peter Growen (Ontario).

Valerie graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1983 and UNBSJ with a Bachelor of Nursing degree with a certificate in Mental Health Nursing in 1998. She worked for Addiction Services for many years and retired from Quality/Risk Management at the Regional in 2011. Over the years she enjoyed volunteering for Saint John Ambulance, The Red Cross, Coverdale Centre and Cancer Society.

Valerie had a passion for life, her greatest love being her children, grandchildren and great grand-child.  Valerie had an abounding sense of humour, a great love, acceptance and joy for all she met.  She loved reading, painting, travel and exploring new hobbies and interests.  

The family would like to thank for their compassionate and exceptional care: Nurse Practitioner Vicky Mills, Patti Kelly from the Carleton Community Centre, the Stay Strong Program at the YMCA, and all the staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Friday March 24th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held on Saturday March 25 at 4:30p.m from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to YMCA Saint John Stay Strong Program, Elevate Aviation at elevateaviation.ca, Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.
