William Savoy Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of William Henry Savoy, loving husband of the late Diane (Bastarache) Savoy, wish to announce his passing which occurred on March 20, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, January 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Lawerance (Savoie) and Dorothy Ida (Taylor) Savoy.

He was employed with Saint John Transit in the body shop from 1971-2011. He enjoyed fishing, pool, bingo and cards especially when he was able to show up his family members and friends.

He is survived by his children, Patrick (Ashley), Lisa, and Shelley (Art), the mother of his children, Mary, his brothers, MCPL(R) James Savoy (Peggy), Frank Albert Savoy (Angie), and Randolph Savoy (Carol), grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jeffrey), Michelle (Matthew), Anthony (Amber), Patrick (Jennie), Courtney (Jon), Nicholas, Zachory, Joshuah, and Riley (Glenn) , his great-grandchildren, Dylan, Devin, April, Athen, Joshua, Rosie, Ellie, Keegan, Kensley, Charley, and Grayson, along with several brother in laws and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gordon Savoy and Walter Savoy, and sisters, Patsy Cobb, Mary Savoy, and Helen Salter.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), with visitation on Sunday from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The funeral service will take place at 2:00pm in the Fundy Chapel followed by cremation, Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
