Virginia “Ginny” Lee Teakles (nee Bradbury) passed away December 14th, 2024, surrounded by her husband and children with one of her favourite Christmas songs, “I’ll Be Home with Bells On” playing in the background. Born August 25, 1946, Ginny was known for her kindness and love for people. She had the ability to make anyone she came into contact with feel like a friend. Everyone who entered their home was welcomed, no-one left a stranger. It was a regular occurrence for Ginny to do the inviting and her husband do the cooking which left her to engage in her most favourite thing, being the social butterfly she was.
Ginny will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lloyd Teakles, her children, Lindy Nice (Bob), Dan MacPherson (Lise), Sarah Pearson (Ryan), 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her sister Elizabeth (Liz) Guptill, niece Dianne Fox (Reg), nephew Denn Guptill (Angela), cousin Laurene Nason (Terri). Ginny is predeceased by her mother Gladis Bradbury, her father Stephen Bradbury, her brother Allan Bradbury, her sister Janet Bradbury and her brother-in-law Burton (Burt) Guptill.
Ginny’s greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was her best self when she was surrounded by her family, playing with her grandkids, her great-grandkids and engaging in conversation with her children. One of the things she loved to do was host Saturday night family suppers where one would be greeted by the aromas of baked bean, potato casserole and homemade rolls.
Ginny will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She was a loyal friend and had amazing friends that spanned the decades some of which were part of a groupwho called themselves “The Knitters”. Not sure how much knitting got done as one or two of Ginny’s children are still waiting on the mittens promised them in 1972.
