Timothy Rogers Obituary

A being of love, absolute kindness and true good-will, was blessed to us…for all too a short time, becoming one with the force that unites us all on Oct 14th, 2023.

A long time ago (Dec 30th, swingin’ 1970) in a galaxy…exactly like this one…

Tim was born to Mary Lou and the late Gerry Rogers. He shared a special bond with his siblings, his older but significantly less handsome brothers, Gerry (Shannon) and Richard (Christine), and his three favourite sisters: Connie (David), Louise (late Duane), and Lisa (Sheena). He held a special place in the hearts of his mother-in-law, Angela Gonzalez, and his brother-in-law, Pedro (Clara) Laguerenne of Mexico. Tim, who held the esteemed position of the cool and fun uncle, will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

The heart of a Jedi and the spirit of a Rebel, Tim was a dynamic character that left a mark on the hearts of all that knew him. Fiercely intelligent, endlessly thoughtful, irresistibly charismatic, and uproariously funny, he made an unforgettable impression on anyone fortunate enough to spend time with him. Whether alongside him at a concert or sharing a cup of coffee, his presence was unforgettable. Tim was an avid consumer of all things pop culture, with a particular devotion to Star Wars and the eerie tales of Stephen King. His taste in music, movies, books and theatre reflected his eclectic nature. Never to be seen out of a band or graphic t-shirt, Tim loved to coordinate his shirts with friends and family. His handsome smile and unique style will be remembered.

Above all Tim loved his wife, Erika, and children, Matthew and Audrey, tremendously. Edgar Allan Poe, a favourite poet of his, once wrote, “but we loved with a love that was more than love,” a perfect reflection of the depth of their bond. Erika, the love of his life, brought vibrancy and joy to his world when they met in 2009, ultimately marrying in 2011. The birth of his beloved son, Matthew, in 2016, followed by the arrival of his cherished daughter, Audrey, in 2018, marked the pinnacle of his life. He was a patient, gentle, and kind father who stood steadfastly by their side for every dance show, sports practice, and school concert. He enjoyed reading them stories, or weaving tales of his own, cherishing their adventures as much as their daily routines.

Tim was a graduate of St. Malachy's Memorial High School, class of 1988, and he earned a Bachelor of Arts (English) from the University of New Brunswick. He was an employee at Unilever for many years and more recently with CGS. Our family extends our gratitude to CGS for their unwavering support and kindness to his children.

Throughout his illness, Tim was blessed with excellent and compassionate medical and nursing care. A sincere thank you from our family to the doctors and care teams, we are forever grateful for your kindness and compassion to Tim.

Tim’s force is an ally to us all, and a powerful ally it is.  Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.
