It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Gilbert ‘Gil’ Hall, wish to announce his passing which occurred peacefully at home on August 21, 2025. Born in Saint John, December 14, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas and Maxine Elvina (Toole) Hall.
He was predeceased by his loving wife and soulmate, Mary Kathryn O’Brien, who was his first mate in all their life’s adventures. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his stepmother, Jean Hall, his sister, Sandra Roberts, and brother Todd Hall.
He will be sorely missed by his good friend and companion, Diane Shillington. He truly cherished their time together and felt so blessed to have her in his life.
He is survived by his children; Linda Hall (Ron Stackniak), David Hall, Wesley Hall (Angie), Marilyn Pond (Bruce), and Patricia Hall-Gaudet (Ted), Phil Flowers (Michele), his brother Christopher Branch (Pat), his sister, Debbie Hall, and his grandchildren Kevin, Courtney, Katie, Robyn, Ryan, Andy, Danielle, Brandon, Cody and Jason and his niece Sherry Roberts, and nephews Matt and Colin Branch. He is survived by several great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by Kathy’s children, Tiffany, Trisha, and Jaime and his lifelong friend and neighbour Sandy Robertson.
He worked in the mobile home business for many years, both in sales and service. He sold satellite TV dishes when this started here in New Brunswick. He went on to open a business, Easy Living Satellite TV, which was one of the first here in New Brunswick.
He spent many years of his life boating on the Saint John and Kennebecasis Rivers and was an active member in the Canadian Auxiliary Coast Guard. Later in life he would take his motor home and spend winters in Florida. He was a huge fan of NASCAR racing.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). At his request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Gil’s life will be held at the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club in Millidgeville on Friday, October 10 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances made to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
