It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Patricia Thompson announces her passing which occurred on September 14, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, and best friend. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Levisa Kelly.
Sharon worked as a special instructor in the school system for 41 years and was a proud member of CUPE 2745 acting as V.P. working along side President Sandy Harding. Living in Martinon for 51 years she loved her many friends who became family. Sharon had many adventures with her best friend of 49 years Jackie Mersereau. The one BFF who stole her heart is 17-year-old Jack Harding who didn’t see an age gap but saw a like minded pal. She was an avid baker, gardener, DIYer and let’s not forget Bingo enthusiast. Nothing made Sharon happier as to have a large group of family/friends together for her to feed, laugh with and enjoy each others company.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Vincent of 60 years; daughters Shelley Burhoe (Gordon), Tracie Hayward (Tracy); daughter-in-law Anne Thompson; grandchildren Cooper, Zachary, Rosa, Michael, Iain, Walker, Florence, Travis; great grandchildren Camden, Everly; brothers Kenneth (Gail), Howard (Ella), Charles (Joan); sister Connie Mitchell; brother-in-law Marshall Dupuis, along with several nieces, nephew, extended family and friends. She will also be remembered by her special friends Eileen and Takeya Tayes.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Mark; brothers Paul, Douglas; sisters Colleen (Maurice), Frances (George), Rose, Joanne (Tommy), Claire; brother-in-law Sam Mitchell.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of SJRH , 5CN, and especially 3BN for the excellent care given to our mom.
