It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear sister, Rosemary Chiasson, on September 3, 2025. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 6, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Tersa Chiasson
Rose will be deeply missed by her siblings: Geraldine (David) Hatfield, Angie (Gordie) Chiasson, Shirley (Roger) Geldart, Leonard Chiasson, Ernie (Lorraine) Chiasson, Harven Chiasson, and Gerald Chiasson. She was a very special aunt to Michelle (David) O’Brian, Nicolas Chiasson, Mark (Sarah) Hatfield, Michael (Eric) Chiasson, Theresa King, Melina Chiasson, Natasha Chiasson, Tammy (Steve) Charlton, Chrystal Chiasson, and Melissa (Sumner) Mitchell-Chiasson, Barbara Chiasson, Letitia Chiasson, Lisa Dunn, Sarah Chiasson, Andrew Vienneau, and was loved by her many great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous cousins and her lifelong friend, Georgie MacRae.
She was predeceased by her parents Leonard Chiasson in 1987, and Tersa Chiasson in 2018, her sister Barbara in 1986, her brother Leon in 1959, and her nephews Curtis Chiasson in 2007 and Matthew Chiasson in 2018.
Family was everything to Rose. She always made time for those she loved, often traveling to Tracadie to visit with her cousins and relatives. She had a generous heart and was always looking after others, whether it was preparing meals for her neighbors at Stephenson Tower where she resided, cooking for children at Centennial School, or simply being there when someone needed her. Rose faced many challenges in life, but she met them all with strength and determination. Despite her own struggles, she always put the needs of others first.
Rose will be remembered as a kind, giving, and one-of-a-kind person whose love for family and friends knew no limits. As she would say, “WHAT A RUSH!!!”
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). A private graveside service for family will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Rose can be made to the North End Food Bank or a charity of the donor’s choice.
