Robert Lewis Pearson

It is with broken hearts that the family of Robert Lewis Pearson announce his passing which occurred at Carleton Kirk Nursing Home on Tuesday April 20, 2021. Born in Bloomfield, NB July 2nd, 1937, he is the son of the late Bob and Ellen (MacDonald) Pearson. Robert was a well-known and respected businessman who owned and operated several automotive shops in the city of Saint John. He was a talented licensed mechanic and well known for his knowledge and hardworking ethic. He operated companies such as Hay Market Square Irving, Texaco on Rothesay Avenue, Irving Service Station on Thorne Avenue, and Bob Pearson Service Center. Robert encouraged and taught the trade and was a well-respected teacher and mentor to many. Above everything Robert cherished his family, loved travelling (trailering from here to Florida and across Canada), BBQ’s, playing the guitar, and enjoying life.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Elsie (Arsenault) Pearson; step-daughter Michelle (Jamie Logan) of Saint John; step-grandsons Curtis D’entremont, Kyle Goguen, Jean-Luc Dejardins and Andrew Spencer; step-great granddaughter Neveah; brothers Kevin Pearson (Glenda) and Roger Pearson (Debbie); sisters Darlene Bond (Jim Finch), Judith Vaughan (Melville), Deborah McLaughlin (Joseph) and Pamela Poole (Jerry), brother in law Ken Garland and God-daughter Angella Mercer, aunts, uncles, cousins, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces & nephews and friends.

Along with his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sisters Rosalind Harron (Doug) and Starlene Garland and brother Dana Pearson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday April 25th from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday April 26th at 2:30 p.m. Due to the current pandemic and public health restricitions friends must RSVP to attend Robert's service.
