It is with broken hearts that the family of Robert “Bobby” Delphis Ferguson announces his passing on April 10, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on December 26, 1958, he was the son of the late Ethelbert Delphis and Marie Frances (Johnson) Ferguson.
Bobby had spent his earlier years working for CP Rail. Over the past 30 years, he worked many odd jobs from painting to yard work for friends and acquaintances. He put everything he had into whatever job he was undertaking. He enjoyed lending a helping hand washing dishes for the Outflow Ministry in Saint John. Bobby took great care and detail in keeping the family home looking its very best. He was a dedicated, loving supporter and caregiver to his Mother throughout his whole life. Bobby loved going to his home church, St. Ann’s, until his illness slowed him down.
Buzzy, as he was often affectionately referred to, was always there for everyone! He loved life’s simple joys. He was so appreciative of anything and everything anyone did for him. Buzzy loved the beach! He would sit for hours soaking up the sun and listening to tunes on his “ghetto blaster”. He loved providing music for all the family events over the years. Bobby loved a “good feed” and thoroughly enjoyed all family gatherings! If you had the pleasure of being around him during these events, you likely were treated to a good ole dose of Chicken Bob or a funny off the cuff humorous limerick. Bob loved watching hockey and old movies. He was always up for an adventure and over the past several years looked forward to visiting the trailer in Sussex each summer.
Bobby is survived by his brother: sisters: Janet Ritchie, and Betty Ann Lewell (Robert);Michael Ferguson (Joanne); nieces and nephews: Jenn Ritchie, Scott Ritchie, Tommy Simoneau, Tony Ferguson, Nicholas Ferguson, Crystal Lewell, Stephanie Smith, Alex Ferguson, and Jessica Ferguson; grand-nieces and nephews: Hailey, Liam, Lyric, Lily, Carson, Caleb, Amelia, Jacob, Isaac, Isaiah, and Audrey; as well as his special furry friend, Riley. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother Douglas Ferguson.
Special thanks to Dr. Howatt and the staff of 3BS at the Saint John Regional Hospital who showed such great care and support during Bobby’s time there.
