It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert Thomas Owen who peacefully passed away on September 25, 2025, at the Ottawa Heart Institute. Born January 3, 1966, he was the son of the late Charles and Davidina Owen.
Robert dedicated 30 years as a long-haul trucker for East Coast Moving and Storage, where he found joy in traveling from coast to coast doing the work he loved. In his spare time, he cherished the company of his closest friends, Mark and Christine Douglas, and Peter Owen, whether it was playing cards, shooting pool, or simply enjoying time together.
Robert is survived by his sisters Fay Owen, Denise (Donnie) Baker, Terrie Gault, Darlene (Jimmy) Owen, Lori (Steve) Walton; brother Richard (Pattie) Owen. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and especially those who he worked closely with, Jason Owen, Greg Owen, Tyson Owen and Robbie Owen.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Dawn Firlotte, Heather Owen, brothers-in-law Peter Foster, James Gault, nephew Ryan Firlotte and niece Jodi Owen.
A graveside service will be held at the St. Andrew’s Cemetery, 22 Upper Golden Grove Road, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome. Following this, a reception will be held at the family home, 231 Purdy Drive, Saint John, NB.
Donations in his memory may be made towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
